Beta notice — please read before use
All Balance Works tools are currently in active development and testing. They are provided for exploratory and educational purposes only. Data used in tools such as the Gender Pay Gap Dashboard is illustrative and may contain errors — it should not be relied upon for operational decisions, publications, or formal reporting. Statistical methods and thresholds applied (such as the four-fifths rule for RLRs) are rules of thumb and should always be interpreted in context. If you spot an error or have feedback, please get in touch — it helps us improve.

About Balance Works

Built at the intersection of evidence and practice

Balance Works develops free, open equality tools for practitioners who need more than good intentions — they need rigorous methods, honest data, and practical resources they can actually use.

The tools are grounded in equality law, occupational psychology, behavioural science, and the realities of public sector practice. They're designed to be used by people who are time-poor, data-curious, and genuinely trying to make things better.

This is an independent, evidence-led project. All tools are free to use.

📊
Evidence-based
Methods grounded in published research, established frameworks, and real data — not assumptions or aspiration.
⚖️
Legally literate
Tools built with the Equality Act 2010, PSED, and relevant case law at their foundation — not bolted on as an afterthought.
🛠
Practically useful
Designed for practitioners who are time-poor and results-focused — not for theorists. Every tool has a real-world use case.
🔓
Free and open
No paywalls, no registration, no data collected. Just tools that work, for anyone who needs them.
